In only 18 months, the actress went from wearing a size 28 to a size 12 thanks to giving up takeout and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The effects were impressive, but the actress, well known for her role as Mandy Dingle in the popular ITV soap opera, struggled with loose skin that weighed more than 1.5 stone.

The Emmerdale star abandoned takeout and junk food throughout these 18 months in favor of working out and eating well.

The results were astounding, but Lisa, 46, was left with painful skin folds and weighed more than 1.5 stone rather than the physique of her dreams.

The TV actress, who made the documentary Lisa Riley’s Baggy Body Club, claimed heartbreakingly that she felt like a “saggy mess” and that her own appearance “revolted” her.

Lisa Riley confessed in her documentary Lisa Riley’s Baggy Body Club that she had to have four major operations.

When I decided to reduce weight, I never in a million years thought I would look like that, she stated. I had no idea how uncomfortable the loose skin would be.

I questioned why on earth I had dropped so much weight. Compared to when I was fat, I looked even worse. The discomfort was also a factor. The skin was dragging and flapping.

Lisa believed that her only remaining choice was to get surgery. She had the option of having surgery in secret, but she made the courageous choice to let the documentary team accompany her in order to bring attention to the difficulties that thousands of individuals who lose weight each year encounter.

The host of Loose Women aid that she wanted to demonstrate its harshness. Without the ability to see it, it is impossible to empathize or sympathize with anyone in life.

“If I can help just one person, and I know I have helped thousands, then for me it has been worthwhile.”

For Lisa, the issue went beyond just appearance; it also affected her physically. She needed to exercise to keep the weight off, but the agony from the folds made it difficult.

“When you are on this weight loss journey, food becomes the enemy and you have to go to the gym, you have to move,” she said.

But the movement was starting to cause serious issues. It was extremely painful, as the loose skin itched, and became red; also, cleaning in between the folds was challenging.

Lisa has a close-knit circle of pals whom she has known for a long time, as well as a close-knit family. But she believed that nobody could truly comprehend what she was going through.

She resorted to the internet to check whether anybody else was going through similar problems, and she was horrified by what she discovered.

In order to learn more about her new friends’ experiences, Lisa established the Baggy Body Club and visited some of them in person.

The conversations gave her the courage to have surgery despite her fear of it.

“I was so terrified the night before the surgery that everyone assumed I wasn’t going to go through with it,” she recalled.

I had the thought that I may pass away in 11 hours. I may wake up from the surgery.

Could I have survived the rest of my life with the loose skin? However, I wouldn’t have been content. I have repaired what I had done to myself, not had cosmetic surgery.

Nobody forced me to consume a full package of sausages or 50 Twix bars in one sitting. I caused myself that harm. Nobody forced me to skip the gym.

There were some weeks when I had maybe seven takeout meals. I caused myself that harm. That is something for which I am accountable.

Lisa underwent four procedures: a fleur de lis belly tuck that left her with horizontal and vertical scars, a thigh skin removal procedure, a breast lift, and the excision of her “bingo wings.”

The recovery process from the operation, which Lisa stressed is not a quick fix to a trim body, required several drawn-out, agonizing months. She is now, however, overjoyed with her new physique.

I was never able to wear lovely knickers before; everything was just practical, mumsy bras and large knickers’, she continued. I can now dress in cute ensembles.

The old me would have eaten a coffee, baguette, red wine, snacks, and a cake on the train from Manchester to London.

People can’t believe it, but now I plan my meals and get a sparkling water.
